Who I Am
Background and Experience
I’m Geoff Sando, CPA, and I’ve spent more than forty years working at the intersection of finance, transactions, and strategic planning. My career started in public accounting, where I gained deep experience in audit, tax, and mergers and acquisitions. That foundation led me to executive roles, including serving as CFO of a large aviation parts company and later founding my own private equity firm.
In 2016, a colleague in the film industry asked for help structuring a tax-efficient production. That request opened the door to a new focus: applying complex tax strategy to film financing. Since then, I’ve advised on more than seventy film and television projects, helping structure over four hundred million dollars in production financing using Section 181 and related incentives.
I bring a transactional mindset, a CPA’s attention to detail, and a practical approach to an industry that depends on accurate, compliant financing structures.
I live in Southern California with my wife of thirty-five years, and we have three grown children.
